Each project is born from an initial idea. In 1978 Donne in Musica was born thanks to the intuition of internationally renowned musician and musicologist Patricia Adkins Chiti.
For 35 years the Foundation, thanks to a growing network of 108 countries, carries out a mission that - despite much progress – is always very essential for the entire world of music: the necessity of removing all gender discrimination and inequality for all women who create and compose music.
This section of the web-site - "This is what I think ..." – is a collection of reflections, essays and comments by Patricia Adkins Chiti - on the status of women composers wherever they are and whatever they compose. This section share ideas with readers, to strengthen the ongoing energic mission of the Foundation.
