Patricia Adkins Chiti
President
Patricia Adkins Chiti,
President of Fondazione Adkins Chiti: Donne in Music, musician and
musicologist with a long, distinguished international career in opera
houses and symphony orchestras. Acknowledged “pioneer” in her field
of musicological research, she is well known in Italy for her work
with many national commissions (performing arts; economy and work;
musicology) and within the State Commission for Equal Opportunities.
She is consultant on cultural policies for women in the arts to
European Governments and European Commission programmes and projects,
lectures for universities in many parts of the world, has been
president of Music Section for EUC inter-governmental conference on
the State of the Arts, speaker for the World Intergovernmental
Conference on the Future of Culture organised by UNESCO, speaker for
MIDEM, Co-President of Congress organised by La Sorbonne, Centre
Pompidou and IRCAM on the access of women in music, and for
Strathclyde University in Scotland on European Culture programming.
She has published, in Europe and in the USA, books, essays and
research projects regarding women in the arts. Recipient of many
international awards, in 2004, for her work on behalf of women, the
President of Italy conferred upon her the title of “Cavaliere
Ufficiale” |

Presidente della Fondazione Adkins Chiti: Donne in Music, musicista e
musicologa con una lunga ed importante carriera internazionale quale
cantante lirica con teatri ed orchestre sinfoniche in tutto il mondo.
E’ residente in Italia. Riconosciuta quale “pioniera” per il suo
lavoro nel campo della ricerca musicala al femminile, è molto
conosciuta per il suo lavoro con molte commissioni isti-tuzionali in
Italia (arte e cultura, economia e lavoro, musicologia) e per quello
nella Commissione per le Pari Opportunità. E’ consulente per
politiche culturali per le donne presso molte organizzazioni europee
e progetti, e collabora con università in Italia, Europa e negli
Stati Uniti. E’ stata Presidente della sezione Musica del Convegno
Europeo “The State of the Arts” e relatrice per la conferenza
mondiale sulla futura della Cultura indetta dall’UNESCO, per MIDEM,
co-presidente del congresso organizzato dal Centre Pompidou, IRCAM e
l’Università di Sorbonne e per quello dell’Università di Strathclyde,
Glasgow. Ha pubblicato, in Europa e negli Stati Uniti, libri, studi,
rapporti e progetti musicologica riguardante politiche culturali per
le donne nelle arti. Ha ricevuto molti premi internazionali. In
giugno 2004 il Presidente della Repubblica, le ha conferito
l'Onorificenza di Cavaliere Ufficiale. |

Rico has a degree in Political Science with a thesis on “Women and
politics in Europe. The problem of female under-representation in the
institutions". She is a Consultant of the City of Pescara for URBAN
II Programme and EQUAL, a Member of the Board of Directors of
Fondazione Adkins Chiti: Donne in Musica, consultant for European
Programmes and an expert project manager working with non
governmental organisation VIDES International as designer, evaluator
and monitor for projects co-funded by the E.U. and C.E.I.,
implemented in Europe and in developing countries. She was consultant
of ECOTER as researcher for structural funds and technical assistance
to the Abruzzi Region for the P.O.P. 1994/99, for INTERREG II C –
project prepared for the elaboration of DocUP 2000/2006 and the
respective CdP, activities of evaluation of POR Ob. 3
2000/2006.Further professional experience has included work as
monitor and evaluator of projects in Mozambique for VISES (1999). She
is a registered member of the Italian National Association of Work
Consultants and has nine years of experience with administration
offices specialising in general accounting, IVA, wages and social
security contributions. |

Rico, laureata in Scienze Politiche con Tesi di Laurea in Diritto
Costituzionale Comparato: "Donne e Politica in Europa. Il
problema della sottorappresentazione femminile nelle istituzioni", si
é poi specializzata in cooperazione allo sviluppo ed in politiche
comunitarie, continuando a rivolgere particolare attenzione agli
studi di genere. Esperta in progettazione, monitoraggio e valutazione
di programmi comunitari, svolge attività di consulenza per enti
locali, ONG, fondazioni.. Ha effettuato numerosi soggiorni nei Paesi
in Via di Sviluppo. Ha pubblicato diversi libri, articoli e saggi
sulla promozione della donna nei Paesi in Via di Sviluppo, sulle
politiche del lavoro e sul processo di integrazione europea. Dal 2003
collabora con la Fondazione Adkins Chiti: Donne in Musica, divenendo
nel 2004 membro del Consiglio di Amministrazione. Con la Fondazione
ha elaborato alcuni progetti di cooperazione culturale, di ricerca,
nonché di formazione nell’ambito della promozione della creatività
femminile e della lotta agli stereotipi di genere. |

CostaWith a degree in modern literature, Silvia Costa, journalist, has been a
member of the Board of the National Commission for Economy and Labour
since 1995 and was among the experts nominated by the President of
the Italian Republic (firs by Oscar Luigi Scalfaro and then by Carlo
Azeglio Ciampi); she is a commissioner for the Cariplo Foundation
since November 2001; President of the Fine Acts Academy since 1995;
President of the Committee for Funding for Centres of Voluntary
Assistance in the Lazio Region. She is also a National Councillor for
PPI. From 1996 to 2000 she was President of the National Commission
for Equality and Equal Opportunities at Palazzo Chiti, and from 1992
until 1994 she was Under Secretary for State to the Ministry for
University and Scientific and Technological Research. From 1987 until
1994 she was a member of the Italian Parliament and from 1976 until
1984 a county councillor for the City of Rome. Co-founder of
“TELEFONO AZZURO”, in 1987 she was the first vice president. She is a
member of the Women’s Movement of the ITALIAN RED CROSS. Silvia Costa

lettere moderne, e giornalista professionista, Silvia Costa, è
consigliere del CNEL dal 1995, tra gli esperti nominati dal
Presidente della Repubblica (prima da Oscar Luigi Scalfaro e poi da
Carlo Azeglio Ciampi); è Commissaria della Fondazione CARIPLO, dal
novembre 2001; Presidente dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma dal
1995; Presidente del Comitato di gestione del Fondo speciale per i
Centri di servizio del volontariato nella regione Lazio. E' anche
Consigliere nazionale del PPI. Dal 1996 al 2000 è stata Presidente
della Commissione Nazionale per la parità e le pari opportunità a
Palazzo Chigi, e dal 1992 al 1994 è stata Sottosegretario di Stato
presso il Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca Scientifica e
tecnologica. Dal 1987 al 1994 è stata deputato per tre legislature
presso la Camera dei Deputati e dal 1976 al 1985 Consigliere comunale
di ROMA. Co-fondatrice del “ TELEFONO AZZURRO” nel 1987, n’è stata la
prima Vicepresidente. E’ anche membro del Movimento Femminile della

Elisa Manna, sociologist, graduated in
Philosophy and Sociology. University researcher until 1985 and Censis
researcher until 1992, she has been head of Censis Cultural Policies
Sector since 1994. During the course of almost thirty years of
research activity she has supervised many sociological researches,
constantly pursuing the promotion of researchs in the sphere of
cultural processes and institutions, the influence of means of mass
communication, social pluralism in relation to the mass media system,
immigrants and ethnic minorities, and issues relating to women,
minors and infants. These researches have been conducted on behalf of
institutional and private customers, including: the European Council,
Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Rai –
Radiotelevisione Italiana, the Italian Episcopal Conference and
numerous municipalities.She has published numerous scientific

Researcher and consultant, has a degree cum Laude in Sociology of
Mass Communication at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, with the
Dissertation “Digital Memories”. She is involved in Academic research,
specialising in comparative international analyses of political
culture and media economics at the Italian Culture Industry Institute.
She has studied the relationship between TV and minors in great depth,
becoming Secretary of the “Minors and RAI Television Programming”
Commission in 2004. She became consultant to the RAI Rights Archive
in 2005. Her work involves analysing international audiovisual sector
regulations and Intellectual Property rights. In 2004 she won the
competition for the Study Seminar on this subject promoted by the
Italian Communication Guarantees Authority - Agcom. In 2003/2004, the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs awarded her a study grant to the
University of Malta. Since 2003 she has taught and researched as an
Honorary Fellow in “Audiovisual Languages”, Faculty of Political
Sciences, Tuscia University. She is co-author of the book “Forme e
suoni nell’etere” (“Shapes and Sounds on the Airwaves”), Eucos
Edizioni, Sept. 2005. She is a researcher with the CENSIS Foundation,
working on the “Women and Media in Europe” project. |

Ricercatrice e consulente, si laurea con Lode in Sociologia delle
Comunicazioni di Massa presso la Facoltà di Scienze della
Comunicazione dell’Università di Roma “La Sapienza” con una Tesi
sulle “Memorie digitali”. Dopo aver partecipato a diverse ricerche in
ambito accademico, si specializza presso l’Istituto italiano per
l’Industria Culturale in analisi comparative internazionali di
politica culturale e di economia dei media, con particolare
attenzione ai settori delle nuove tecnologie e dell’audiovisivo. In
riferimento a quest’ambito, i suoi interessi seguono una duplice
direzione: se da un lato approfondisce le tematiche legate al
rapporto tra Tv e minori e diventa nell’aprile del 2004 Segretaria
della Commissione “Minori e programmazione televisiva Rai”,
dall’altro indaga gli aspetti sia normativi sia logico-tecnologici
degli archivi audiovisivi, sviluppando nel 2005 un rapporto di
consulenza con l’Archivio Diritti della Rai. Si occupa inoltre
dell’analisi della regolamentazione internazionale del settore
audiovisivo (radiodiffusione, televisione e cinema) e del Diritto
d’Autore; nel settembre del 2004 vince la selezione pubblica per il
Seminario di studio su queste tematiche promosso dall’Autorità per le
Garanzie nelle Comunicazioni. Nell’A.A. 2003/2004 vince, con il
Ministero degli Affari Esteri, una Borsa di Studio presso
l’Università di Malta. Dal 2003 svolge attività didattica e di
ricerca come Cultrice della materia per la Cattedra di “Linguaggi

general representative of the GRREM (Research Group about the relationships
between children and media) since december 1999. Graduated in
cultural management she took part in many researches leaded by the
GRREM like the one about television spots and children which was
published by the" Documentation française" in 2002. Among her
activities, she publishes an trimestrial information letter and she
is responsible for the management of the documentation center. Sophie
Laurent is the french coordinator of the survey Women in Media in

générale du GRREM, Groupe de Recherche sur la Relation Enfants/Medias
depuis décembre 1999. Titulaire d'un DESS de Politiques culturelles
et actions artistiques, elle a participé à plusieurs recherches
menées par le GRREM, notamment celle consacrée aux enfants et à la
publicité télévisée qui a donné lieu à un ouvage publié à la
Documentation Française en 2002. Dans le cadre de ses activités au
GRREM elle rédige une lettre d'information trimestrielle et est
responsable du centre de documention. Sophie Laurent est, pour le
GRREM, la coordinatrice de l'étude Women and media in Europe. |

Fernández Ferrer is a free-lance curator, pro-grammer, cyber researcher and translator (Spanish and Portuguese to French). She is
a picture researcher for films and publications on films; she
researches film locations, rights… and writes film synopsis. Born
1953 in Africa (Algeria), she lives and works in Paris. Nicole is
co-ordinating the Audiovisual Simone de Beauvoir Centre (feminist
video and film archives, distribution, audiovisual workshop,
production, film analysis based on gender issues). She is currently
working with women and young people in jail for a non-profit
organisation of Prison Librarians (screenings, shooting, and film
analysis). Nicole has lectured on women's film in Beijing, Barcelona,
and Taipei and served as a jury member for Seoul Women Film festival.
Masters in Language, Literature and Arts of the Spanish speaking
countries from the University of Rouen-France. She furthered her
education in Paris-8 University with a post-graduate diploma in
Cinema and Video Do-cumentation. |

Fernández Ferrer est programmatrice indépendante de cinéma,
recherchiste en audiovisuel, archiviste et tra-ductrice (espagnol,
portugais). Elle effectue des recherches d’images d’archives, de
copies de films, de photographies et de droits. Elle écrit pour des
catalogues de cinéma. Née en 1953, en Afrique (Algérie), elle vit et
travaille à Paris. Actuellement, Nicole coordonne les actions du
Centre audiovisuel Simone de Beauvoir à Paris (Vidéos féministes,
archives, distribution, ateliers audiovisuels, analyse de films basée
sur le genre et les stéréotypes). Elle travaille régulièrement avec
des jeunes des écoles et collèges et programme, coordonne et anime
des projections rencontres en prison de femmes et d’hommes. Nicole a
donné des conférences sur le cinéma à Beijing, à Pointe-À-Pitre, à
Barcelone, et Taipei et a été membre de différents jurys de festivals
de cinéma à Séoul puis à Taipei. Titulaire d’une maîtrise en lettres
et arts, et espagnol, elle est entrée à l’Institut des Hautes études
d’Amérique Latine pour se diriger ensuite vers le cinéma en obtenant
un diplôme de documentation audiovisuelle à Paris 8. |

Rikaki produced 24 children’s TV series, written 18 educational and
children’s books created and published 3 children’s magazines and
worked for 20 years as a Primary School Teacher. Athina Rikaki
founded a number of companies’ and organized international
confe-rences dealing with Audiovisual, Art and Environmental education
that refers to children and young people. In 1994 found the European
Children’s Television Centre, a unique European structure, based in
Greece, and working for the development of a common European
audiovisual language and the exchanges of ideas between professionals
and youngsters of Europe. |

of Italian Studies for Design, Survey and Restoration) and now is
Scientific Director of private schools. He worked as consultant and
industrial designer for many Italian companies (the Italian State
Railway Company, Unoaerre, Baraclit, Gucci, Nouvelle Vague, Alessi,
Domus, etc.) and planned the experimental Theatres of Pontedera and
Santarcangelo in Romagna, museums and theatres in Greece and restored
the medieval Castle of Castelfalfi and the High-Renaissance villa
Imbarcati (Pistoia). He was scientific consultant for the Ministries
of Culture and Tourism in Greece and is founder of the NGO “Archipelagos”,
“Ecofilms” and “Media Literacy Network” and organizer of Ecofilms
Rodos International Films+Visual Arts Festival and Audiovisual
Panorama on Youth and Sports. With “Media Literacy Network” he
participates in various cultural European programs. |

theoretical – analitical department in the Faculty of Social Sciences
in Ljubljana and completed her studies with the thesis on
environmental awareness raising and life-stiles in 1999. Her post
graduate studies were about the sociology of everyday life. From 2001
– 2002 she worked fo9r the Ministry for Environment: dealing with
sociological topics, public policies on spatial planning, inclusion
of public and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). From 2002 – 2003
she worked for Regional Environmental Center for CEE, dealing with
re-granting programs, NGOs and influencing public in policies. From
2003 – 2005 she worked for the Centre for information service,
cooperation and development of NGOs (CNVOS), as the head of the
office and as a board member, focusing on improvement of conditions
for NGOs, capacity building, mechanisms for civil dialog, founding
oportunities in the EU and promotion. Since March 2005 she has been
working for the Gallus Foundation on programmes for young talented
artists and with the Association of Slovenian Foundations, dealing
with capacity building for foundations. |

“Dante Alighieri” in Novi Sad. She is voluntary worker (1998-2000)
for Ecological Movement of the City of Novi Sad. Collaborates with
ARCI – Modena (Nuova associazione di cultura tempo libero e
solidarietà). During 2000 sho was the local co-ordinator within a
project called “Archives of the Memory: from an individual to a
collective experience”. The result of this project is the book ‘’Mine
years with Milosevic’’ one part translated into Italian. She
participated in the project ‘’Bunker Poetico’’ of the Italian painter
Marco Nereo Rotelli, Venice Arts Festival 2001. |

National Music Academy Montenegro
The National Music
Academy was established in 1980 in Podgorica and in 1988 it moved to
Cetinje, the old Montenegrin capital city where, together with the
Fine Arts Faculty and the Faculty of Drama, it makes a part of art
faculties of the University of Montenegro. Around 250 students from
Montenegro and the surrounding countries are enrolled into
undergraduate and postgraduate studies. They attend the following
departments: Composition, Conducting, Piano, Accordion, Violin,
Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Guitar, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Horn as
well as the Department for Music Pedagogy. Apart from theoretical and
practical teaching, students and professors also develop concert
activities in Montenegro and the surrounding countries, including
soloist, chamber and choir performances, as well as performances of
large vocal-instrumental works. The Music Academy includes also a
Recording Studio equipped with the most modern digital devices for
recording and processing of the sound. European Credit Transfer
System has been in use at the Music Academy since 2004. |

Nacionalna muzička akademija je osnovana 1980. godine u Podgorici.1988.
godine preseljena je na Cetinje, staru crnogorsku prijestonicu, gdje
zajedno sa Fakultetom likovnih umjetnosti i Fakultetom dramskih
umjetnosti čini dio umjetničkih fakulteta Univerziteta Crne Gore. Na
redovnim i poslijediplomskim studijama Muzičke akademije studira oko
250 studenata iz Crne Gore i susjednih zemalja. Oni pohadjaju odsjeke:
kompozicija, dirigovanje, klavir, harmo-nika, violina, viola, violončelo,
kontrabas, gitara, flauta, klarinet, truba, horna kao i odsjek za
muzičku pedagogiju. Pored teoretske i praktične nastave studenti i
profesori razvijaju koncertnu djelatnost u Crnoj Gori i okruženju,
koja obuhvata solističke, kamerne i horske nastupe, kao i izvodjenje
velikih vokalno-instrumentalnih djela. Na muzičkoj akademiji postoji
i Tonski studio opremljen najsavremenijim digitalnim uredjajima za
snimanje i obradu zvuka. Na Muzičkoj akademiji se od 2004. godine
primjenjuje European Credit Transfer System. |

“Women in Music” Kragujevac
The Association “Women in Music”
Kragujevac Serbia was founded in June 17 2003. in Kragujevac on the
initiative of Voyna Nesic composer and professor at Prishtina-Zvecane
University of Art (Kosovo and Metohija). The Association is
registered for work on Serbia and Montenegro territory. The work of
this Association is based on Declaration of “Women in Music”
Association Kragujevac 2003. and on DECLARATION OF “WOMAN IN MUSIC”
FOUNDATION, Rome, September 2000. The goal of the association is
affirmation of the women who are working in the area of creative and
reproductive music. Members of the association are woman and men from
the whole territory of Serbia. The biggest project of the
organization, so far, was the Choir Competition: “Youth for Peace and
Justice” in 2004. It is planned that Competition in 2005. includes
new disciplines: piano, solo singing, accordion, wind instruments,
and that it will be required from the contestants to have at least
one composition from a female composer from Serbia or some other
country. |

Udruzenje "Zene u
muzici" Kragujevac, Srbija osnovano je 17. juna 2003.g. u Kragujevcu,
ciji je idejni tvorac i predlagac Vojna Nesic, kompozitor i profesor
Fakulteta umetnosti Pristina- Zvecan, i registrovano za rad na
teritoriji Srbije i Crne Gore. Osnova rada ovog udruzenja je dokument
pod nazivom: Deklaracija Udruzenja "Zene u muzici" Kragujevac,
septembar 2003. kao i usvajanje Deklaracije “Zene u muzici”, Rim,
septembar 2000. Cilj Udruzenja je afirmacija zena u oblasti
stvaralacke i reproduktivne muzike zena. Clanovi udruzenja su zene i
muskarci iz cele teritorije Srbije. Do sada najveci projekat ove
organizacije bilo je Takmicenje horova: “Mladi za pravdu i mir” 2004.
U 2005.u planu je i organizacija novih takmicarskih disciplina:
klavir, solo pevanje, harmonika, duvacki instrumenti - u kojima se
trazi da takmicari imaju obavezno po jednu kompoziciju
zene-kompozitora iz Srbije ili iz druge zemlje. |
