Nilufer Verdi

Pianist and composer was born in Istanbul, Turkey, 1956. She is the daughter of a painter Lilo Auer Verdi and Nejat Verdi was who played percussion as a hobby. Her brother is also a drummer, Murat Verdi. She has been raised in a musical familty with private piano lessons. After high school she attended New York New School, Jack Reilly. Then she went to Boston, Berklee College of Music, and worked with Ray Santisi, Billy Pierce, and Bob Winter. She is known as the first Jazz Pianist in Turkey. She has played in many clubs, jazz festivals, tv shows, with local and foreign musicians. Akbank, Yapi Kredi, Bogazici, Parliament, Kusadasi, Afyon, Ankara festivals, and also Houston in USA, Port Houron in Canada, Can-Am festivals are some of the important festivals she has performed. She also toured in China. Mana is her first debut album released at 1997. And Izhar, her second album is released at 2007.
