Françoise Toullec

(born in 1947, resident in France), pianist, composer, improviser. After literary studies at university, she came back to music and piano (jazz workshops at the IACP of Alan Silva). She continues with her various formations, including the quintet La Banquise (C.Solal, L.M.Marion, A.Arlot, M.Deltruc), an approach which is deepened and constantly renewing the close relationship between writing and improvisation. Influenced by contemporary music, author of numerous multidisciplinary projects (Opéra Bleu, Le Perturbateur…), she works with visual artists, painters, directors and especially with the William Noblet sculptor for a noise music. She works regularly as a pianist alongside guitarist Mimi Lorenzini, participates in his creations (Orchestre de l’extase, Opus pour un autre temps…) and runs Musiseine association with him. Fascinated by the relationship between words and sounds, she created in 2011 the duo Tania Pividori Le Cœur sans doute a repertoire of songs about love and erotic poetry by or about women, and Dominique Fonfrède duo Improvisation et Poésie sonore.
