Anastasia Salo

Anastasia Salo (14/08/1980, Petrozavodsk, Russia) composer, graduated from Petrozavodsk State Conservatory and post-graduate studies there (Russia). She studied master classes in Finland and Russia with composers Jonathan Harvey, Igor Rogalev, Alexander Beloborodov, etc. She is the winner of the International Competition V.Gavrilin (2001, Russia), of "The Kalevala in music" (2008, Russia), of Majaoja-kantaatti " (2010, Finland). She was twice awarded a scholarship by the Government of the Republic of Karelia (Russia). She is a member of the Composers' Union of Finland and of that in Russia. Her compositions include works for orchestra, children's opera, vocal music, chamber music, works for children, and music for plays. She is currently working on various projects and competitions, teaches composition at the master classes, writes a lot of music for children.
