Agneta Sköld

(born in Västerås, 1947, resident Västerås, Sweden), is a Swedish choir conductor and composer specialized in choir music. In 1991 she was appointed choir leader and assistant organist of Västerås Cathedral and in 2006 she became organist of Västerås Cathedral. She studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and graduated both as music teacher and choir leader in 1973 and as an organist in 1969. Between 1967 and 1976 Sköld sang in the Swedish Radio Choir and Chamber Choir, directed by Eric Ericson. Sköld has taught at the Ingesund School of Music at Karlstad University. She has worked as a church musician since 1978 and has been the director of Mariakören (The Maria choir) since 1991, which she has taken to international succes in numerous choir contests. Sköld holds chair number 15 in the Västmanland's Academy.
