Patrizia Montanaro

(1956, Bologna, Italy) graduated in piano at the Conservatory of Bologna in 1978 and in composition under the direction of Bettinelli at the Conservatory of Pesaro in 1992. From 1989 to 1993 she attended composition classes by G. Manzoni at the Academy of Fiesole. Her compositions have been awarded at International Competitions of Composition: ATEM “Briccialdi” - Terni 1990, “C. TOGNI” - Brescia 1990, ICONS - Turin 1997, GEDOK - Mannheim 1998, ICOMS - Turin 2003, “Ermo Colle” – Tizzano val Parma 2004. Her compositions have been performed in Italy, Switzerland, Rumania, USA, broadcasted by radio stations and included in the schedule of events and theater seasons. She has received commissions from Italian and foreign institutions and has been published by Rugginenti (Milan) and EDIPAN (Rome). Since 1980 she teaches piano at various music conservatories, currently at the conservatory "Giovan Battista Martini" in Bologna.
