Mercedes Migel Carpio (Vega)

(born in Córdoba, Andalusia, Spain, on 18th February 1979). Singer, Songwriter. Vega participated in the program Operacion Triunfo. Vega's single, "Quiero Ser Tú" (I want to be you), sold more than 200,000 copies and it allowed her to win a recording contract for a debut album. The result was "India", which featured 11 self-written tracks. In 2006, after various wrangles with A&R in her new record company Universal Spain, Vega released her second album, "Circular", with the first single being 'Una Vida Contigo' (A Life With You). All but one of the tracks ("Solo Quiero Amanecer" written by Dani from El Canto Del Loco) were written by Vega. Her recording company then decided to re-release Circular with the subtitle "Como Girar Sin Dar La Vuelta" (How to go round without going back). In 2009 she returned to the music scene with an album composed entirely of her: "Metamorphosis". In November 2010 she moved to Los Angeles where her recorded themes would be her fourth studio album.
