Sarah Lianne Lewis

Sarah Lianne Lewis (1988) is a Welsh composer, based in Cardiff. She grew up in West Wales and her music is strongly influenced by the landscapes of her native country. She graduated from Cardiff University in 2009, with a BA (Hons) in Music and History, and a MMus in Composition, having studied composition with Arlene Sierra and piano with Catherine Milledge. She has also been mentored by Lynne Plowman, Peter Reynolds and John Metcalf in recent years. Recently Sarah had several new works performed across Wales, whilst working with a variety of performers, including the Carducci Quartet, PianoCircus, Cor Cyfoes and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Among her awards: Featured in the BBC National Orchestra of Wales’ Welsh Composers Showcase 2012; Winner of Young Composer of Dyfed 2011; Recipient of the Coe Memorial Foundation Grant (2006 – 2009)
