Evangelia Kikou

Evangelia Kikou (17/12/1965, Thessaloniki, Greece) holds the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Music (The University of Iowa, USA, 2003), as well as bachelors in Musicology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 1995) and in Chemistry (University of Ioannina, 1987). Her music includes works for piano, violin, flute, voice, chamber ensembles, choir, and orchestra. Most of it has been performed in concerts, recitals, and festivals in Greece (Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Camerata, Greek Contemporary Music Ensemble, Alea III, Athens’ Saxophone Quartet, Dissonart Ensemble, etc), the United States, and Russia. Her work Antikatoptrismos has been among the finalists in ALEA III – 13th International Composition Competition for Young Composers, 1995, Boston, USA. Her activity includes also treatises and lectures on many subjects on musical composition in various eras.
