Savvia Kozakou

(born in 1982, in Cyprus), composer. She started taking violin and piano lessons in early years and attended a numerous master classes in music performance and composition. She has studied piano at the National Conservatoire in Athens and composition at the Arte Music Academy of Cyprus. She has graduated from Middlesex University with BA in Music in composition and. She was accepted by the Goldsmiths University for the MMUS in Music Composition. She composed music for short films, for dancers and for musicians in Cyprus, USA and the UK. In 201 she studied Orchestra Conducting at Blackheath Conservatoire and is now studying Byzantine Music at the Byzantine School of Music in London. From 2009 she attended several short courses in music such as Music Therapy at Goldsmiths Colloege, Artists Management and Music industry at City University, Composition and arrangement at Ionian University, Greek traditional Music at Music Village, Sibelius Software at City Lit and Choral Conducting at Association of British Choral Directors. As well as teaching in London she has recently founded KITE Music, an organization that aims at the preservation of Greek and Cypriot culture abroad. She participated in the 30TH Education Conference in Music in Greece-2012 (member of the contemporary choir "Ae Phonae"). From 2012 she is member of Donne in Musica for Woman composers.
