Seren Karabey

Born in 1989 Istanbul, Turkey. Started her musical education with the piano at the age of 8. In 2000, got accepted to study violoncello with Prof. Resit Erzin in „Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory in Istanbul. In 2005 she was selected to become a member of „The National Youth Symphony Orchestra‟ under the conduction of Cem Mansur. In 2004, attended the „Ayvalik International Music Academy‟ and took lessons from Peter Bruns. Attended master classes of Henri Demarquette at „Académie Internationale d‟Eté de Nice‟ in summer 2006; Arto Noras and Fine Arts Quartet at „Festival Pablo Casals at Prades‟ in 2009 and Yovan Markovitch in 2010 and gave many performances of solo and chamber music. In 2010 she performed „Haydn D Major Cello Concerto‟ with Istanbul Clarinet Choir. She attended „Yahsibey Design Workshops‟ in 2010, and worked with contemporary composers on graphical notation. She joined the „Istanbul State Opera‟ in 2011. Currently studies her Master‟s Degree at „Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory‟ with Prof. Resit Erzin. Is a founding member of the „Tempesta Quartet‟ since 2010.
