Eva Kalavská Faltusová

(born in 1976, in Slovakia), composer. After moving to Prague in 1996, she studied composition and improvisation with Margaret Prochazkova (the School of Music at the Vinohrady), and was awarded the National Composition Competition for Opava Sonatina for piano. From 1998-2004 she studied at the Prague Conservatory,with O. Kvěch. In March 2004 she became a member of the Association for Contemporary Music Presence. In 2004 she took a course of piano improvisation at the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University (in doc. Nedělky). She currently teaches song, piano and keyboard in the School of Music Kralupy, while in addition to composing concert works-dedicated to the production of sound recordings on PC creating background music, music for advertising and documentary film, especially in collaboration with television-see Cable TV Prague.
Selected works: Exultation sonate for fl and pf; Ludus naturae - Suite for pf and orch; Stone and silence (2008); Láry-Fáry-for fl and vl; Preludium and fuga for org and fl; The Rite - for 4 basoons; Zoznica - for ob, fag and pf; Misterioso-for piano solo; Sea waves-Songs for piano and tenore; Verbum Patris hodie -for orchestra and mixed choir.
Awards: In 2003 received a grant from the Czech Music Fund, the composition contest received. for Generation Sonata for flute and piano\Exultation \ Honorable mention.
