Concha Jerez Tiana

(born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, in 1941). Composer, Multimedia artist. She studied piano at the Madrid Royal Music Conservatory and earned a degree in Political Science. Since 1991 she has served as Associate Lecturer at the Salamanca Fine Arts University. Since the end of the 1980s her compositions have been associated with radio and producing radiophonic art works for radio stations. Noteworthy among her solo works are fifty large-format installations (many of them intermedia installations, including video and sound. Between 1985 and 1990, apart from her artistic activity, she worked with the Spanish Education and Science Ministry in teacher training and the integration of arts in schools. She also worked with the Youth Institute between 1986 and 1988, directing, advising and developing workshops and encounters with young artists.
