Lorena Fontana

(born 1st Aprl 1961 in Formigone, Italy, and resident there) composer. She studied jazz-rock music at the Guildhall School of Music in London in 1987, and then she gained a dipoloma in Opera Singing at the "F. Venezze" Conservatory in Rovigo (Italy) in 1991 and in Jazz Music at the "Bomporti" Conservatoy in Trento (Italy) with Franco D'Andrea in 1997. She also attended a course in Big Band Arrangements with Bruno Tommaso (1992) and studied jazz improvisation with the saxophone player Lee Konitz and the singer Sheila Jordan in New York (1993) and with the contemporary soprano Dorothy Dorow (1995-1996). She has participated in radio and TV programmes as guest musician and performed in many concerts and festivals such as "VoceDonna" (Parma, Italy) 2007, "Woma Jazz at Les Printemps des Poetes Couleur Femme" (Luxembourg) 2010 and at the Concert season Latina Jazz Club 2012, collaborating (in concerts and recordings) with several National and International musicians and band in the jazz, pop/rock, ethnic, new age and contemporary music fields. She has also taught jazz and choral singing in various music schools and conservatories and has held different seminars and courses.
