Erika Förare

(born in Uppsala, 1955, resident Stockholm,Sweden), is a Swedish contemporary composer. She grew up in Piteå in the very north of Sweden and studied violin at the Framnäs Folkhögskola's music program. She started her studies in composition with private studies with Sune Smedby. In 1975-1979 she studied at Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Gunnar Bucht. Förare writes mainly chamber music but also for bigger orchestras.
