María José Fontán Oñate

(born in Madrid, Spain, 1957). Teacher, music critic and composer. She studied piano in Madrid with Rosa Maria Kucharski and Harmony with Carmelo Bernaola. Later, in Badajoz completed composition studies with Juan Pérez Ribes, Domingo J. Sanchez and Javier Jacinto. She has produced special programs radio station Cadena SER and is professor of harmony at the Conservatory of Music of Badajoz. She is president of the Association of Composers of Extremadura.
