Carme Fernández Vidal

(born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, on 13th September 1970) composer and lecturer. She has higher degrees in Composition, Piano, Music Theory and Pedagogy. She holds a PhD from the University of Illes Balears. As a composer, she has received assignments from different institutions and from a large number of soloists and ensembles. Her works have been premiered and performed in important cycles and festivals. Some of them have been compiled in CD in Spain and America and have been published in Spain and Germany. She has published several books, articles and professional papers in magazines and publications related to universities. She teaches courses and lectures regularly at festivals, institutions and conservatories. By competitive examination, she is a Titular professor at the High Conservatory of Balearic Islands and has been Head of its Composition Department since the academic year 2006/07.

Cecilia Finotti

(Roma 17 Aprile 1965), cantante, compositrice jazz. Si avvicina prima alla musica classica studiando pianoforte, per poi appassionarsi alla musica jazz grazie al padre Aimone, musicista per diletto, contrabbassista e vibrafonista della “Doctor Dixie Jazz Band”. Ha studiato pianoforte e canto a Bologna con Alessandra Gonzaga e Paride Venturi; nell'estate 1996 ha frequentato le Clinics del Berklee College di Boston organizzate da “Umbria Jazz” e nel marzo 1997 ha seguito il seminario tenuto da Norma Winstone sulla tecnica vocale e l'interpretazione degli standard. Nel 1999, ha seguito i corsi di Stefano Zenni, Bruno Tommaso, Pietro Tonolo ed ha registrato per Splasc(h) Records il suo primo CD “A Flower Is a Lovesome Thing” con Maurizio Giammarco. Dal 1996 ha lavorato per le più importanti rassegne di jazz italiane: “Umbria Jazz”, “L'estate in città”, “Mirandola”, “Populart Jazz”, Bologna, “Artisti al centro dell'attenzione”, Bologna, “Atc Jazz Club”, Bologna, “Crossroads”, “il Chiostro dell'arena”, “Casa del jazz”, Roma. Benché “nata nel mondo del jazz” con il tempo ha sviluppato uno stile vocale, compositivo e testuale personale, motivato da una grande curiosità riposta in territori stilistici differenti ma sempre coesi nell'idioma jazzistico. Il risultato di questo lavoro interiore e compositivo si trova nel CD “Nevermore” (2004) incluso nella “Compilation Marzo 2005” del Jazz Magazine. Nel 2007 ha presentato il CD “Transitions” con Mauro Campobasso e Mauro Canzoni. Nel 2009 è nato “Novella”, un disco di brani in forma di canzone. Oltre a dedicarsi all’insegnamento privato ed all’attività concertistica, ha studiato musica antica e barocca con Patrizia Vaccari. Tra le sue musiche: “Happiness”, “Notte (via nel nulla”)”, “Silent Wind (it's useless)”, “Filo di fuoco”, “Kiss (while I see)”, “Isn't that so easy?”, “Mostrami la strada”, “Nevermore”.

Cecilia Franke

(born in Malmö, Sweden, 1955, residence Slite, Gotland, Sweden) composer of contemporary music. Franke graduated as an organist in Lund in 1975. Further education in music pedagogy; graduation in Malmö in 1990, Gotland School of Music Composition, graduation in 2002; studies with Professor Luca Francesconi at Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University; bachelor of Music in 2005, Master in Music in 2007, Master of Music in Performance in 2009. Among her most important professional works are: Återkomst, 2010, commissioned by Connect Festival recorded and broadcast by Sveriges Radio P2; Febris, for 2 vl, which was included in the Duo Gelland CD Violin Duos vol. 6, that later was awarded the Nutida Sound prize to Duo Gelland – Cecilia and Martin Gelland – as one of three most interesting contemporary CDs in 2010; Jag är, 2004, commissioned by the cathedral organist Henrik Cervin, for solo organ – is another important work by Franke; Visheten, 2004, a selection of Cecilia Franke's work for the live concert representing Sweden at Nordic Church Music Symposium the same year, Århus, Denmark. The commission of a Vesper in five movements for mixed choir, organ and string ensemble, duration 45 minutes, for the 350 Year Anniversary of Gävle Heliga Trefaldighets Församling in 2004 – Ljuvlig är din boning, Herre Sebaot! (for mixed choir) from the Vesper was included in the CD Om de yttersta tingen edited by Gävle Heliga Trefaldighets Församling in 2005.
