Esther Flückiger

(Berna, d.n.s.) Diplomatasi giovanissima in pianoforte presso il Conservatorio di Berna, si è perfezionata al Mozarteum di Salisburgo sotto la guida di Sergio Perticaroli, Carlo Bruno e a New York, presso la Julliard School, di György Sandor. Svolge un intensa attività concertistica in Europa, Stati Uniti e Asia. Collabora con formazioni cameristiche sia in Italia che in Svizzera, si dedica all’ interpretazione di musica contemporanea ed all’improvvisazione. Nel 1994 ha fondato l’Associazione Suonodonne Italia, che si dedica alla divulgazione di musiche composte da donne. Ha fatto parte del consiglio direttivo del International Alliance of Women Composers, USA e del Frauenmusik Forum in Svizzera. Ha inciso i CD Novecento (musiche di Frank Martin e Bohuslav Martinu), Volo libero (musiche di compositori svizzeri e italiani), e Le musiche delle donne nel duemila. Si è dedicata alla composizione ed al multimediali. Tra le sue composizioni originali: Eisblume (1998); Mosaico (1999) un canto sotto la terra; Nassaustreet – Blues (2002); Nel deserto non piove (2002); Viaggio nell’oscurità, una traccia senza fine I (2003) e Spazier_klang aves creaturas (2007).

Fiona Frank

Fiona Frank was born in 1961 and grew up in Cheshire. She was the first girl to sing in the church choir and had a rich musical life, getting involved in madrigal, choral, chamber and orchestral groups. Her main instrument is the violin and she has been taught by Lydia Mordkovich (favourite pupil of David Oistrakh), Roger Huckle (leader of the Bristol Ensemble, formerly the Emerald Ensemble), and Frances Mason (Leader of the Rasoumovsky Quartet and London Mozart Players). She also enjoyed playing under the baton of James Lowe in the New Bristol Sinfonia. Recent performances of her work include the premiere of "Tintern Abbey"- a three movement string quartet, at the Tintern Michaelmas Festival in September 2011 and several performances of a double concerto by Concordia Mundi in Hereford in November 2011. She has written over 20 works during the 2011, which include full orchestral and choral, string orchestral, piano and chamber genres.

Fuensanta Figueroa Figueroa

(born in Bilbao, Spain, 1973). Composer, conducter and teacher. She studied piano and trumpet at the Conservatory Professional Barakaldo. In the Conservatory "Juan Crisostomo Arriaga" of Bilbao she received advanced degrees in Music Theory, Transposition, Accompaniment, Musical Pedagogy, Harmony, Counterpoint, Composition and Instrumentation. For four years (2001 - 2005) she was director of the mixed choir Abeslariak Inmakuladako (Bilbao), performing numerous concerts in different Spanish cities. She was assistant director of the Orchestra of the Conservatory of San Sebastián and Director invited, to the EGO ( Basque Young Orchestra ) in 2001. During the years 2004 - 2006 she performed several concerts with the Chamber Orchestra of the Complutense University of Madrid and the Renaissance Chapel choir of the Complutense University of Madrid. Since 2001 has directed the Orchestra of the Municipal School of Music in Erandio (Vizcaya). In the field of research, she is doing her PhD and actively participates in various national and international conferences and has published articles in national magazines. As a teacher she taught harmony, counterpoint and composition at the Conservatorio Municipal in Barakaldo (Vizcaya), has been Professor of Harmony and Musical language of the Municipal School of Music in Mungia (Vizcaya) and associate professor at the University of the Basque Country belonging to the Department of Didactics of Musical, Plastic and Corporal. Since 2001 she has taught Orchestra and musical language of the Municipal School of Music in Erandio and is responsible for the artistic and musical direction of the Orchestra of the Music School.
