Kerstin Birgitta Egerbladh

(born 1956 in Umeå, Sweden) is a Swedish choreographer, composer and dancer. She grew up in a musical family and is self taught. She started to compose with the piano at the age of five. During her teens she wrote theater music and music for her father’s jazz group. She also came in contact with theatre at this time when she met the theater pedagogue Margreta Söderwall who gathered young people to play Shakespeare. She studied at The University of Dance and Circus 1978-1980 in the program for pedagogues. Since 1981 she has done the choreography at Stockholms Stadsteater, Royal Swedish Ballet, Göteborgsoperan’s ballet, Göteborgsoperans balett, Norrbottensteatern (The Norrbotten Theater) and Moderna dansteatern as well as working with the vocal group Voces Nordicae. The fall 2008 she directed the performance Det är vi som är hemgiften, in a collaboration with Klungan.
