Meliha Doğuduyal

Pianist, multi instrumentalist and composer was born in1959, Istanbul, Turkey, had early training in Music from her father, a music theory teacher and trombonist Mahmut Doğuduyal. She started the formal Music education at the age of five by playing Piano at Istanbul City conservatory as a student of Ergican Saydam ve Ferdi Statzer. After graduationg from high school Ataturk Deneme Lisesi, she continued her education at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State conservatory Piano and Composition department, where she studied piano with Suna Erel and Metin Öğüt, advanced theory with C. Resit Rey and Ercivan Saydam, modal music with Adnan Saygun and composition with Ilhan Usmanbas. Also, she attended virtuosity courses in piano, given by Aysegül Sarica, and earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and accompaniment from the same school. Receiving a scholarship she continued her studies in Holland. During the years 1991-92 she followed improvisation courses at Bimhuis, Amsterdam. She did master studies in advanced composition worked with Gilius van Bergeijk (electronic music), Louis Andriessen (general study) and Theo Loevendie (composition), and received a Post-Graduate Certificate from the Royal conservatory of the Hague. Her works are performed in many countries including England, Germany, Russia, Spain Holland, USA, Turkey and Austria. Between 1978-1996, she taught and worked at Istanbul Municipality conservatory, Istanbul State Theatre, and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University The conservatory. Since 1991 she is a freelance Pianist and composer working and living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
