María del Pilar Cuesta Acosta

(Ana Belén) (born in Madrid, Spain, 27th May 1951) actress, singer and composer. Ana Belén studied acting in Spain during her youth and began acting in theatrical and cinematic productions in the mid-1960s. Ana Belén appeared in various films as a teenager: Morbo, La petición by Pilar Miró, Emilia parada y fonda by Angelino Fons, El buscón by Luciano Berriatúa, La oscura historia de la prima Montse by Jordi Cadena, La criatura by Eloy de la Iglesia and Sonámbulos by Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón. She also started her career as a singer in 1972, releasing several successful albums with her husband Victor Manuel. In 1991, she recorded the first album that did not include any songs composed or adapted by Víctor Manuel, Como una novia, with songs by Gloria Varona, Pancho Varona and Antonio García de Diego; album to be followed by further successes as can be seen in selects works. In 1997 as a composer, she released a new album, Mírame, which consisted of her own songs and duets, which went on to become the best-selling album of her solo career, which was received with the same enthusiasm in America and Spain.
