Carlota Baldrís Rafecas

(born in El Vendrell, Tarragona, Spain) composer and teacher. She began her musical studies at the Conservatoire of Tarragona and obtained her degree in composition at the Conservatory of Barcelona, where she studied with Xavier Boliart and Albert Llanas. She complemented her training in film music with Joseph Nieto, in contemporary music with Jean Pierre Dupuy and Agustí Charles, choral and orchestra conducting with Ros Marbá and Francesc Llongueres, piano with Monique Deschaussé and she attended jazz courses with Manel Camp and Francesc Capella. She has been director and professor of musical language and harmony in the School of Music "Pau Casals" Vendrell since its founding in 1986. She is patroness of the Pau Casals Foundation and member of the group of composers of Tarragona. She has composed piano pieces, chamber, choral and scenic music as well as numerous harmonizations and arrangements of popular music and publicity music.
