Rosalba Bentivoglio

(Born in 4th May 1956 in Catania, Italy), singer and composer. She lives and works in Catania and Milo. She studied Classical voice and vocal techiniques, directing her research in the field of experimental European jazz. She teaches canto jazz in various Sicilian music schools and at the Teatro Erwin Piscator in Catania (where she is musical consultant), and organizes voice seminars in Catania, Parigi, Dresden, Anversa, Milano, Siracusa and Palermo. She also teaches jazz singing at the Istituto di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale Vincenzo Bellini in Catania (where she is soloist of its Orchestra Jazz), the Conservatory “V. Bellini” in Palermo, the Conservatory “A. Corelli” in Messina (where she is soloist of the Orchestra Jazz) and at the Centro Sperimentale di Didattica e Divulgazione Musicale “Progetto Suono” in Messina. She directs for ALEPH the Accademia di Canto Jazz and the “Laboratori Musicali” in Catania. She is a soloist and composer in the “Orchestra Jazz del Mediterraneo” since 2005 and has been soloist in the “Orchestra di Musica Contemporanea” in Palermo, with which she recorded a CD. She performed in various festivals sach as “Roccella Jonica”, “Moods” in Zurich and “Sud des alpe”in Geneva, and in numerous tuornee in Europe and in North America. She has collaborated with Italian artists such as Enrico Rava, Gianluigi Trovesi, Rita Marcotulli, Paolo Fresu and with International artists like Paul Mc Candless and A. Lande. Since 2006 she has been  president of ASMJ “Associazione Siciliana Musicisti Jazz” for the Eastern Sicily. In  1986 she contributed to the creation of “The Brass City Orchestra” as soloist. In 2012 she created the 16th edition of “Voci tra le Note Jazz”.

Lande con i quali ha realizzato diverse incisioni. E‟ voce solista dell‟ “Orchestra Jazz del Mediterraneo”; dal 2006 è presidente dell‟ASMJ “Associazione Siciliana Musicisti Jazz”. Insegna Canto Jazz in varie scuole siciliane e presso l'Accademia di Alto Perfezionamento di Catania da lei stessa diretta. Ha partecipato a diversi festival come “ Roccella Jonica”, “Moods” di Zurigo e al “Sud des alpe”di Ginevra e ha realizzato varie tuornee in Europa e in Nord America.
