Laura Antikainen

(born in 1949 in Helsinki, and resident in Helsinki), composer. She studied piano and violin, but discovered in her teens that singing was what she wanted to do. She also created songs and after meeting a young man with a band, joined the group which became a duo, Jarkko & Laura. Their break through single was written by her. Jarkko & Laura represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in Madrid 1969. She has done the Finnish translation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's one woman show Tell Me on a Sunday, and sang on the album. She has composed music for the puppet theatre Fairy Tale Safari and the photograph exhibition The Dreams of Island Lohja in 2010
