Miren Iratxe Arrieta Francisco

(born 1968 in Bilbao, Spain) composer. She studied music theory, piano, harmony and counterpoint at the Bilbao Music Conservatory with John Lamb and Margarita Lorenzo. In 1989 she studied composition with Josep Soler and Benet Casablancas and conducting at the Barcelona Conservatory. She studied Philosophy at the Barcelona University. Her music has been programmed in the Festival of Music of s. XX of Bilbao, Musikaste Renteria, Quincena musical of San Sebastian Musical, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid and at the Teatro Colon in Buenos, among others.

Awards: She was honored in 1991 with the second prize in composition SGAE and the third prize in the Young Musicians Competition organized by the Generalitat.
